A Request For Help…

Lights 2

The organising committee for the Christmas Fayre are now finalising all the details for the annual Christmas kick-off on Thursday 4th December. Brochures will be popping through your letterboxes any day now and updates will be available from now on both here on the website and on Facebook.

The lights are booked, the trees are chosen, Father Christmas has got Chudleigh written in his diary – and all the crafters are busily preparing stock for their stalls. BUT we need some more helpers for a couple of areas on the night:

Road Closure Marshalls

As usual, the road will be closed between Oldway and the War Memorial and we need marshalls at a number of places to direct drivers and ensure the safety of pedestrians. Full instructions will be provided, together with high visibility jackets. The more people we can get on the list, the less time each individual will have to spend on duty. If you can give us just an hour, or even 30 minutes, of you time on the night, please get in touch: chudfest@yahoo.co.uk or 01626 854611.

Town Hall Stewards

Due to the large number of people who are expected, we will be once again operating a one-way system in the Town Hall, ensuring less congestion and the opportunity to see everything on offer in all the rooms. We are putting together a rota of stewards for the night, so if you can spare an hour, or 30 minutes, at some point during the evening, please get in touch: chudfest@yahoo.co.uk or 01626 854611.

The Chudleigh Christmas Fayre is a popular night in the town’s annual calendar. Please consider how you can help it go off successfully this year.

Pound a Pop and Christmas Party Tickets On Sale

Holly

Two Chudfest Christmas activities get underway this week.

Pound a Pop envelopes are available now, and throughout November, from a number of outlets around town and more will be coming on line throughout the month. It’s the usual deal: pop a pound in the envelope, put your name and number on the front – and that’s it. On 4th December, we will draw one envelope out of the hat, the barrel or whatever container we decide to use. The lucky winner will take home 50% of the pot. Last year’s winner got £200 and we’re aiming for an even bigger prize this year.

Tickets go on sale today for the Wine and Cheese Christmas Party in the Town Hall on Sunday 7th December. Starting at 7.30pm, it will feature songs and stories from the ever-popular Maggie Duffy. Lucky number tickets, at just £10, are one sale in the market on Thursdays and Saturdays throughout this month.
