This year’s Pound-a-Pop was won by Judith Cocker. The final pot was £416 (a new record amount) and Judith was delighted to take home £208. Many thanks to the businesses who sold the envelopes throughout November: Diamond Cut, Sugar Mill, The Bishop Lacy, The Globe, and The Ship; but special thanks once again to Val Trout and Val Parker from Valerie Ann Hair Fashions who not only sold loads during the month, but also harassed – sorry, persuaded – so many people to part with their pounds on the night.
The Christmas Window competition was won by Harvey’s with Gills in second place and Fido Sassoon third.

Last Thursday evening, the weather was as perfect as we could expect for December, and hundreds of you came out on the street to kick off Chudleigh’s Christmas season. The parade went off without incident and the lights went on at the right time, more or less; Father Christmas was visited by lots of children; the live entertainment was great, despite the slight geographical confusion over the drummers; and there were no serious mishaps, although one little girl did attempt to fly in the Town Hall – we hope the bruises are getting better, Chloe!
