That’s All, Folks

And The Winner Is…

Competition Winners

This year’s Pound-a-Pop was won by Judith Cocker. The final pot was £416 (a new record amount) and Judith was delighted to take home £208. Many thanks to the businesses who sold the envelopes throughout November: Diamond Cut, Sugar Mill, The Bishop Lacy, The Globe, and The Ship; but special thanks once again to Val Trout and Val Parker from Valerie Ann Hair Fashions who not only sold loads during the month, but also harassed – sorry, persuaded – so many people to part with their pounds on the night.

The Christmas Window competition was won by Harvey’s with Gills in second place and Fido Sassoon third.

Winners of the final raffle of the year, which was to have been drawn at the cheese and wine party, has now been announced and the prizes delivered to:

  • Ted: blue 251 (Paradise voucher)

  • Louise: blue 361 (Passion Boutique voucher)

  • Audrey  Day: green 206 (Valerie Ann voucher)

  • Paul Wimsett: pink 92 (Harvey’s voucher)

  • Lisa Redfern: yellow 209 (Quest for Zest voucher)

Thank You Chudleigh

Lights 3  Lights 3  Lights 3  Lights 3  Lights 3  Lights 3  Lights 3

Last Thursday evening, the weather was as perfect as we could expect for December, and hundreds of you came out on the street to kick off Chudleigh’s Christmas season. The parade went off without incident and the lights went on at the right time, more or less; Father Christmas was visited by lots of children; the live entertainment was great, despite the slight geographical confusion over the drummers; and there were no serious mishaps, although one little girl did attempt to fly in the Town Hall – we hope the bruises are getting better, Chloe!

So it was another successful Christmas Fayre, and the Chudfest Christmas Fayre committee would like to thank some special people for helping to make it happen:

Christmas Party Cancelled

Sorry to have to report that our performer, Maggie Duffy, is unable to appear  on Sunday due to illness. So we have decided to cancel this event and will hopefully reschedule in 2015.

Contact the organisers for a refund.

Get well soon, Maggie!

Raffle Prizes On Offer

The third and final part of the Chudfest 2014 prize draw will take place on Sunday at the Cheese and Wine party. On offer are vouchers from some of the generous retailers in the town:

  • A month’s free membership of Quest for Zest (just the thing after all the Christmas over-indulgence)

  • £10 to spend at Passion Boutique (looking for a new Christmas outfit?)

  • £10 to spend at Valerie Ann Hair Fashions (must look well-groomed when Santa comes to call)

  • £5 to spend at Paradise (presents for the little people in your life)

  • £5 to spend at Harvey’s Coffee Shop (you’ll need a drink after all that shopping)

Carole Smart will be selling tickets at the Town Hall on Thursday during the Christmas Fayre and they will also be available during the Christmas Party on Sunday evening.

You know what they say: you’ve got to be in it to win it…

Christmas Fayre Updates

Lights 1Well, it’s taken longer than I hoped, but the Christmas Fayre website is now up to date (or at least it was as of ten minutes ago – things are changing all the time). Continue reading
