Thank Yous All Round

Thank YouChudfest summer festival 2016 has ended and this year, our sixth, was the most successful yet. We put on a full programme of events for adults together with several free events for the children and young people of the town. We were delighted, in particular, to host the 24 hour Bioblitz. It was also great that a number of organisations were able to once more use the festival as a framework for charitable fundraising activities.

As Chair of the Chudfest Committee, I would like to thank the Chudleigh residents and their friends who supported the events. Thanks also go to the organisations and businesses that provided sponsorship. [Details of all sponsors and participating groups can be found below.] But, most of all, I would like to thank the small army of volunteers who gave of their time so generously, and without whom the festival just wouldn’t take place.

Feedback has been very positive, and we welcome any further comments, either via the website, our Facebook page or email (chudfest@yahoo.co.uk). Alternatively, you can leave written comments for us at the Town Hall. We are particularly keen to hear from people who have ideas for events or activities they might wish to develop as part of future festivals.

Firstly, the summer festival relies on the goodwill of Chudleigh United Charities and we are very grateful to Stewart Sapp for his support and help again this year.

Thank you to all our sponsors:

Publicity: Chudleigh Carnival; Sawdye and Harris; and all the business that bought advertising in the brochure; Kingsteignton Vets for use of their window; and all the other businesses that displayed posters; Chudleigh Town Council staff for copying and distribution of posters; Make It Marketing for loan of their interns;

Infrastructure: Future Media for marquee lighting; Chudleigh Community Project for electricity; Chudleigh Scouts for water.

Licensing: PRS for Music granted us a 100% discount on the cost of licensing the playing of recorded music throughout the festival. [PRS for Music licences the use of copyright music across the UK, giving businesses and organisations the legal permission they need to play the music they want. These licences ensure that music publishers, songwriters and composers are fairly rewarded with royalties so they can keep making music – and mean that they’re able to support music at events like Chudfest. For more information about PRS for Music or music licensing, visit www.prsformusic.com or call 0800 068 4828.]
