Open Gardens 2017

Chudfest Charity Open Gardens,

Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th JuneGardens 20

As part of the Chudfest events, eleven local gardens will open their doors to the public. The following gardens are open on one or both days.

Details of the gardens are as follows:

  • Woodlands, Milestone Cross, Old Exeter Road, TQ13 0DR. Open Sat and Sun. 1 acre mixed garden with vegetable garden and unusual trees. Croquet and other garden games. For sale:  Plants, refreshments, including light lunches, with wine and Pimms available all day. New this year: Build your own wood fired pizzas!

  • Farmborough House, Old Exeter Road, TQ13 0DR. Open Sat and Sun. Large garden with extensive vegetable and fruit gardens. For sale: BBQ, plants, cakes, home grown pork.

  • Court Ralla, Exeter Road, TQ13 0DD. Open Sun 1/3 acre of wildlife friendly garden. There are acers grown from seed and informal borders. It has a stunning countryside view. For sale: Light refreshments

  • Hurst House, Parkway, TQ13 0LF Open Sun. Lovely town garden.

  • The Appleloft, Parkway, TQ13 0LF Open Sat. Intimate town garden with gypsy caravan. For sale: Light refreshments

  • Strangeways, Lawn Drive TQ13 0LT. Open Sat and Sun(12-4).  1/3 acre wildlife friendly garden with herbaceous beds, potager, pond, some unusual trees, and children’s trail. For sale: cream teas, plants.

  • The Rock Garden, Station Hill, TQ13 0EE. Open Sat and Sun. Substantial garden with pond, cave, unusual plants, and “Little Africa”.

  • Chudleigh Primary School open Sun. Access from Parkway

  • Orchard Cottage, New Exeter St TQ13 0DB open Sat. Lovely little town cottage garden.

  • Treganna, Chestnut Cres, TQ13 0PY Open Sat and Sun

  • Harcombe Cottage Harcombe TQ13 0DG Open Sat and Sun. Large garden with old greenhouse and stunning views.

  • 33 Clifford Street TQ13 0LE Open Sat 12-4

Details of the gardens will be  found on the tickets.

Refreshments, light lunches, wine and Pimm’s, and cream teas, are available at one or more gardens.

Tickets (£5) are available in advance from the Chudfest Box Office, or any of the gardens on the day. Tickets are valid for both days and take you into all twelve gardens. And under-16s go in for free.

Charities and good causes supported include: Chudfest, Exeter Kidney Unit, Friends of Chudleigh School, Chudleigh Church, Cancer Research UK, Chudleigh pre-school, Stroke Association, Motor Neurone Disease association, Judo Club, Diabetes UK, SW Multiple Sclerosis Centre.
